Ignite Your Potential

The H°E°A°T° Program has been completed by hundreds of athletes from junior high to the professional and Olympic level. Our athletes participate in traditional as well as non-traditional sports such as motocross and snowcross. Any sport, any athlete – we're ready for you! Our athletes have had great successes including all conference, all area, all state, all American, state and national champions.

Your program begins with a health history screening and fitness testing at the initial evaluation. With this information, a sports-specific program or generalized fitness plan is customized to ensure maximum benefits. During your training, you are monitored by an exercise physiologist who takes your training to the limit and charts each session's progress.

The H°E°A°T° Program is based on the newest research of scientific and medical principles. Each sport-specific program is broken down into five different areas of focus: strength training, running/skating treadmill, plyometrics, core stability and flexibility.

Strength Training

Proper lifting techniques, including free weights and olympic-style lifts are instructed and monitored throughout the program. As strength and coordination improve, the athlete progresses from the basic lifts to more complex and explosive lifts. Safety is of foremost concern and continually stressed.

Running/Skating Treadmill

The running/skating treadmill is used to improve speed, power, body awareness and overall body mechanics. The treadmill can reach speeds of 25 mph and incline to 40 degrees. The athlete's program, based on their sport analysis, includes speed, power (by hill running), back pedaling and endurance workouts.

Plyometrics

Plyometrics are an integral part of the program, tailored to your specific goals. Plyometric workouts consist of multidirectional hopping, bounding, jumping drills for the lower extremity and medicine balls for the upper extremity. Plyometrics are used to improve foot speed, agility, spacial awareness and explosiveness.

Core Stabilization

The trunk or "powerhouse" of the athlete is trained with traditional exercises, as well as nontraditional exercises which utilize medicine and physioballs. Emphasis is placed on core training to prevent abdominal or back injuries.

Flexibility

Stretching is an overlooked component of fitness. It helps release muscle tension and soreness, increase physical and mental relaxation and reduces the risk of injury. Stretching is performed before and after each workout.

Program Details

We encourage three days a week, with each session lasting approximately 1-1/2 hours. There are 6, 8, 10, and 12 week programs available. The program consists of all the lifting, running and plyometrics. Some athletes choose to lift with their team during the off season and therefore, a program of running and plyometrics can be tailored to meet their specific needs.

H°E°A°T° Wellness Program

The H°E°A°T° Wellness Program is for everyone. We are here to help you achieve your goals, whether it is to begin an exercise program, reach a sports-related goal, or improve overall health and fitness. Flexibility, core stabilization, strength training and cardiovascular workouts are all key components of the program. It doesn't matter what level you are at — the programs are tailored to you.
